THE FIRES IN CALIFORNIA

Living in San Diego has be awe-inspiring, humbling and a great opportunity for gratitude.

I was a sworn Park Ranger, and a fireman, briefly, back in the day.

I never had the courage and bravery seen in our police and fire personnel these last two weeks. I join you in tribute and thanks, and we see first hand what they faced and conquered.

Please hold in prayer those who lost their lives, their homes, their belongings, and their safety.

Because we are Americans, Californians and decent neighbors, the one thing they did not lose was the support, love and assistance of their neighbors and friends, and everyday "strangers". For this they have hope and the promise of a new beginning.

May these pictures touch your heart, open your compassion, and give you pause to say thanks to the first responders and other heroes of the Firestorms of 2007.

May God Bless and Protect us all, with men and women such as this.
